Thermoval pneumatic solenoid valves are listed with two numbers.  The first number is the number of ports, and the second number the amount of states.  Directional valves usually have two, three or five ports.  For example, a 2/2-way valve has two ports (in/out) and two states (open/closed). A 5/2-way valve has five ports and two states typically used to control double acting cylinders.
